Huawei has released the January 2022 security patch for several devices running on the HarmonyOS system. In the latest development, the January 2022 security update has reached to Honor Play 4 smartphone launched in China.

According to the information, Honor Play 4 January 2022 update has landed on the ground with the latest HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.220. To acquire the new version, the corresponding device owners need the base HM OS version 2.0.0.215.

For your information, Huawei has also started new feature testing for devices running on the HarmonyOS system through the beta channel for top models. More interestingly, Honor Play 4T Pro is also part of that beta program along with Mate X2 and Mate 30 Pro. Read more 

Coming to the changelog, it discloses that this update only brings improvement for system security. Besides this, we have not noted any other changes made to the system. So, what are the fixes with January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch?

Well, the January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries.

How to update:

Before proceeding towards the update, please make sure that the device must be charged 30% and above. Also, maintain enough storage to download the update package and use a stable connection for buffer-free download.

Open the phone settings, tap on system & updates followed by software updates and then CHECK FOR UPDATES. If you found any updates, hit the download and install button and wait until the process completes automatically.

Alternatively, open the My Huawei app, visit the update section and follow the on-screen instructions. If you found any updates, hit the download and install button and wait until the process completes automatically.
