It’s reported that Huawei has won a large contract from Turkmenistan to improve the country’s fixed-line network coverage. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov stressed the country’s need to coordinate all processes in the field of communications at a new quality level in order to maximize the use of existing potential.

After signing the resolution on the Huawei contract, Berdymukhamedov will send it to the head of the Digital Systems Agency of Turkmenistan, who will take concrete steps to implement it.

Last November, former Turkmenistan President Berdymukhamedov signed a decree in a government video conference and approved the Turkmenistan Government’s Transport and Communications Agency to sign contracts with Huawei.

This lead to the purchase of equipment, software, licenses, transportation, installation, commissioning, and technical support to improve the fixed-line network coverage in the states and Ashgabat.
