Huawei rolling out Emoji wallpaper feature for public HarmonyOS 4 beta testers
Huawei rolling out two new HarmonyOS 4 features for the public beta testers, this includes the magazine theme and emoji wallpaper. These new additions are one of the key highlights of the HarmonyOS 4.
Before we dive into the details, let’s take a look at the firmware version. It comes with HarmonyOS 4.0.0.111 and the update package size is 1.75GB. The download size makes sense since it contains brand-new features onboard.

Magazine theme:
It allows users to personalize their lock screen. The magazine theme layout is powered by AI and enables you to change the background of any picture with a subject (a person). Then, the image can be used for the lock screen and AOD. The phone will also create revealing animations, which look immersive.
The magazine layout is more than just an image, it also allows users to tweak other parts of the theme. This makes the personalization fun and decorative.
Emoji Wallpapers:
The second important installation of this firmware focuses on emoji wallpapers. It was awaited since day one of the release in HarmonyOS 4 devices. Now, the Emoji wallpaper feature is finally rolling out for Huawei HarmonyOS 4 testers.
The feature is quite innovative and takes the help of the new 1800 Huawei-powered emojis to generate wallpaper for your phone. Huawei says it will empower users to express themselves via the phone’s home screen.
To create a wallpaper, the user needs to visit Themes Manager and choose emoji wallpaper. Then, enter the desired emoji to create the emoji wallpaper. There might be a limit to stuffing these emojis in a wallpaper but we can’t confirm that at the moment. During the creation, the window above will show a preview of the ongoing changes.
Sound improvements:
The new public beta also improves the phone’s sound experience in some situations. This may be related to any issue reported by beta testers.
Public Beta:
This release is related to the first batch of public beta HarmonoyOS 4 devices. Huawei announced these models right after launching this new software on August 4th. Read more about these devices in the article linked below.
