Huawei P50 and Mate 40 series receiving HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta OTA update

Recently, Huawei opened HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta program for over 20 devices, among them, Huawei P50 and Mate 40 series are now ready to install this beta build via OTA update.

According to the information, Huawei Mate 40 and P50 series are getting developer beta of HarmonyOS 4.0 with software version 4.0.0.58 and 59.

The changelog reveals that this upgrade comes with a package size of 6.82GB, which is even bigger than the previous rollouts. The reveals new user experience and development environment for application development via ArkTS language, Stage Model, Ark UI improvements, and more. There are new features added to the DevEcoStudio.

As compared to other devices, these two new additions get a second package, which has fresh optimizations for better device performance.

However, there’s not a graphical version of the software available at the moment due to strict developer policy. Also, Huawei has not released the HarmonyOS 4.0 public beta version. As the software will officially release next month at Huawei Developer Conference 2023.

To be mentioned, the Huawei developer beta is now running faster than before. The company opened a second testing phase within a month of the initial announcement.
