Huawei Pura 70 series has 90% of Chinese components, reveals new report

Huawei Pura 70 series is the latest addition to the flagship smartphone gallery and a new teardown report reveals that the company has used more than 90% of the Chinese components in the dynamic Pura 70 lineup, except for the high-end models.

Japanese investigation company Formalhaut Techno Solution recently went through a disassembly of the Huawei Pura 70 series and found that 90% of the components belong to Chinese suppliers. Although this case does not apply to Ultra variants.

The report highlights that the Pura 70 Ultra packs Sony’s main camera and Kirin 9010 developed by a foreign wafer process. Whereas, other devices like Pura 70/Pro/Pro+ mainly equip Chinese parts such as chips, screens, cases, batteries, and lenses. The list of suppliers is as follows:

This ultimately shows that Huawei is at the edge of going completely independent of U.S. tech with 100% Chinese parts and production use for its devices.

Some industry insiders also revealed that Chinese companies can now make many phone parts without any foreign equipment. However, the case is slightly different and tough when it comes to high-end processors and the main camera’s efficiency.

Yet Huawei and its Chinese partners are trying to resolve this issue at the earliest and come out with flying colors. We can expect better changes in the time ahead.

Research firm TrendForce pointed out earlier that Huawei is heavily working with Chinese suppliers to opt for domestic electronic parts for its smartphones.

Huawei has been trying to shift fully towards Chinese components since the launch of the premium Mate 60 series models, where the company used 18% more domestic parts over the Mate 40 Pro handset. Read the full story HERE.

Pura 70 series continues to be a hot-selling lineup in China’s phone market. Previous reports predicted that the flagship model shipment will reach at least 50 million units this year. If true, this will take Huawei to new heights of success.
