Huawei P40 series global users receiving July 2021 security update, major rollout awaited

Huawei has announced the EMUI 12, its next-generation major OS for smartphones and tablets. However, its availability for the devices and the rollout plan is yet to be confirmed officially. In the meantime, the Huawei devices are continuously upgrading existing EMUI powered devices with better security features.

In the latest edition, the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro+ July 2021 update installing the latest security patch for improved system security. This new software update carries EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.202(C432E3R4P3) along with a download size of 297MB.

Huawei P40 series July 2021 security update can be download by moving into the Settings section. Although, its availability may vary due to the staged rollout and may not show up the first time. As usual, this security patch will gradually expand for all the eligible P40 devices smartphones in the coming days.

Moreover, there are some key points users need to take care of, before installing this update on their device. First of all, maintain enough battery and storage, and use a stable connection to download the update package.

How to check for updates

Via Settings:

  • Open Settings, then go to System & updates and open Software update.
  • Now select Check for updates >> if any update shows up, then hit the Download and install button.

Via Support app:

  • Open Support app >> tap Service tab on the bottom bar >> then click on Update button.
  • Now select Check for updates, and then press Download and install.

Huawei P40 Pro:

Huawei P40 Pro sports a 6.58-inch curved edge OLED display with 2640 x 1200 pixel resolutions and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Kirin 990 5G octa-core processor with Mali-G76 GPU.

In terms of software, it comes pre-packed with EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. The device comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal memory option. It packs a 4200mAh battery with 40W fast charging.

Moreover, the P40 Pro equips a quad-camera setup with 50MP wide-angle lens, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera, and a 3D depth-sensing camera. In the front, it has a 32MP camera for selfies.
