Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro+: Directional Audio Zoom

Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ equip Quad and Penta camera setups, comprising of a different camera sensor along with LED flash. And if you look closely, you’ll find that there’s a small microphone, that also works for a special camera feature called Directional Audio Zoom.

Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro comes with 5X and 10X telephoto cameras and the Directional Audio Zoom, available on these two models, allows users to zoom in on an audio source and amplify its sound at the same time.

When you are shooting a video, your phone can focus on the sound of the subject you are shooting, so that the sound turns up as you zoom in.

For example, if you are recording a child singing onstage, the child’s voice will become clearer as you zoom in on the child.

  • Open Camera and select Video mode.
  • When using the rear camera, aim the camera at the subject you want to record.
  • Touch the record button to start recording. Zoom in on the subject by pinching out or dragging the zoom slider up. As the camera zooms in, the recorded sound becomes clearer.
