Huawei P40 Lite 5G (EMUI 10.1) grabbing May 2021 security improvements

At present, the May 2021 security patch is rapidly approaching Huawei smartphones launched in the global market. This time, it reached to Huawei P40 Lite 5G quad-camera smartphone running on EMUI 10.1.

According to the information, Huawei is pushing an upgraded EMUI version along with a new security patch for P40 Lite 5G smartphones via OTA update. On the other hand, it doesn’t bring any other improvements to the system.

Key points for users before Update:

  • The device must have a better battery backup to install this update that is a minimum of 50%.
  • It’s compulsory to check your storage availability(Internal/External SDcard) to download the latest update as per the size required
  • A strong WiFi/mobile data connection is required for a buffer-free download of the package.

New EMUI Version:

Huawei P40 Lite 5G smartphone users can install this latest update with EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.247 (C432E2R4P1) with an update size of 241MB.

What’s new with May 2021 security update:

According to the Android security bulletin, this security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE as well as 14 hidden privacy issues for improved system security.

VIA SETTINGS:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on System & updates
  3. Tap Software update
  4. Tap Check for Updates
  5. Download and Install
  6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.

You can also request this update via the Support app with the following instructions.

  1. Open the Support app
