Huawei Nova 5i Pro and 5z grabbing March 2021 security improvements with new update

In the same month, Huawei is sending back-to-back software updates for Nova 5i and Nova 5z smartphones. Early this month, the company released a feature update for these devices.

The last update brought new apps for the system that includes Education Center and Link Now desktop applications as well as added smart information setting item that intelligently identify the content of text messages and provide you with more convenient services.

Now, Huawei has kicked off another firmware update for Nova 5i Pro and 5z. This update installs the security patch released in March 2021 that helps the device to fight against threats.

EMUI 11 status (unconfirmed):

The Nova 5i Pro and 5z devices are eligible to run on EMUI 11 but Huawei hasn’t made any announcement yet regarding this matter. These phone users started worrying about their devices because EMUI 11 is soon going to end and their status is still unconfirmed.

Users are still waiting for EMUI 11 confirmation and to test the new features and experience the latest user interface. Also, they belives that Huawei never disappoints its users.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

Update steps:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

VIA SETTINGS:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.

VIA SUPPORT:

You can also request this update via the Support app with the following instructions.

1. Open the Support app
2. Go to the Services tab
3. Tap on Update
4. Download and Install
5. Install

Before you upgrade:

1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.
