Huawei Nova 4e smartphone receiving October 2020 security update

Huawei has begun releasing the new software update for the Huawei Nova 4e users. This update mainly brings the security patch released in October 2020 that improves system security.

Huawei has initially launched Nova 4e with EMUI 9.0 and then kicked-off two major updates including EMUI 9.1 and EMUI 10. However, Nova 4e will not get EMUI 10.1 but, the company is still sending a security update for users.

Recently, Huawei Nova 4 has rolled out with the same October 2020 security patch that fixes 21 high levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s for better system security.

Version and Changelog details:

Huawei Nova 4e grabbing EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.164, which is upgraded from EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.163 and installs the October 2020 security patch.

1. This update is currently rolling out in China.
2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
3. The update will not erase any data

HOW TO UPDATE NOVA 4e:

Download via Settings:

• Open Settings
• Click on the System & updates
• Open Software update
• Tap on Check for updates option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

• Open the Support app on your device
• Go to the Service tab
• Click on the update button
• Tap on Check for update option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device
