Huawei Mate X5 Speed Test

Today, Huawei unveiled the new Huawei Mate X5 foldable phone, and an early network test shows that the phone exceeds the network speed of 1000mbps. Does that mean the phone comes with 5G network access? Let’s find out.

A speed test from a tech blogger shows that the Huawei Mate X5 tapped over 1045mbps download speed. While the upload speed is measured at 70Mbps. The blogger also compared the X5 with the Mate X3 model, which achieved 92.3mbps download and 48.5mbps upload speed.

Even for a second time, the Huawei Mate X5 surpassed 1000mbps speed in a network speed test. The difference between these two generations of devices is huge, as both of them are connected to the same China Unicom’s 5G network. It’s certain the new phone is utilizing the 5G network better than Mate X3.

Huawei Mate X5 is packed with new Kirin 9000s chipset. It’s reported that the chip supports 5G connectivity and the above numbers show the difference between the Mate X3 and new Mate X5 device.

What’s more interesting is that Huawei has skipped version 4 of the Mate foldable lineup. It seems like Mate X5 is the number of 5G and skipping 4 for the era of 4G devices. It also has better build quality and a camera system. Currently, the company is pre-selling the Mate X5 in China and it’s yet to open for sale in general. Check the network speed test below.
