China Telecom has recently published a notification to announce a welcome plan for all of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro users to use satellite calling free of cost until the end of this year.
According to the information, the new free satellite calling plan is for the new Huawei smartphones with satellite calling capability including the Mate 60 Pro. The offer validity is raised until December 31st in China. It is possible that there will be a daily or monthly cap on this free offer but we can’t confirm that at the moment.
China Telecom is the largest and only telecom operator in China and provides Tiantong-1 satellite system services directly to the end users. That’s not it, Huawei is the first and only smartphone company in the world to feature such capability in its devices. This is eye-catching and registers the interest of many consumers.
However, offers like these are further adding a layer of attraction to the new Huawei flagship. People who want to join the paid subscription of this service will have to pay a nominal charge. To be mentioned, the service charge is based on the use per-minute scenario.
Last year, Huawei launched satellite SMS technology, which allows users to send SMS without a mobile network. Such tech is designed for users in an emergency situation and helps them to get rescued or somehow in the absence of the native network.
Earlier this year, Huawei P60 Pro introduced two-way satellite communication, which allows to send and receive SMS. However, Mate 60 Pro goes two steps further and brings in, satellite calling, which sets Huawei as a benchmark in satellite smartphone technology.
