Huawei Mate 30 Pro receiving May 2021 security update in Europe

Huawei has begun dispatching the May 2021 security improvements for global devices including Huawei Mate 30 Pro. On the other hand, some of the smartphones still getting April updates for better system security in the global market.

As per the new information, Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone users starts receiving a new EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.188 in Europe. To be mention, it comes with a big update package size of 303 MB.

However, the latest software update installs only a security patch and doesn’t bring any other changes to the system. More information about the update instructions and notes linked below.

May 2021 security update details:

This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including  3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE for improved system security.

Remember:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

HOW TO INSTALL:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

At the beginning of this month, Huawei has revealed the latest HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system with multi-platform support and new capabilities for users. At the same time, the company began the HarmonyOS upgrade rollout plans for 100 devices limited to the Chinese market.

Talking about Huawei Mate 30 series devices, these smartphones also joined HarmonyOS 2 beta testing from the initial phase (developer beta testing). And now, the company has started delivering the first HarmonyOS stable update for 18 smartphones including Mate 30 Pro.
