VoWiFi feature rolling for Huawei Mate 20 Pro with April EMUI security update



First Huawei P30 Pro, then Huawei P20 Pro and now Huawei Mate 20 Pro has come up to receive a new update, tagged with the WiFi calling feature – VoWiFi among Indian users.

Huawei has pushed a new update for the users of Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India. The update enables VoWiFi calling feature, and also includes Android patches for improved system security.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Update Changelog:

Calls: Enables the VoWiFi features for certain carriers.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in April 2020 for improved system security.


VoWiFi: Or Wi-Fi Calling feature enables users to use smartphones that support VoWiFi to dial numbers to use voice or video calls over Wi-Fi connection. Currently in India, only Jio and Airtel networks are offering VoWiFi services.

April 2020 Security: April 2020 security update includes patches from Google and brings fixes to 5 critical, 12 high, and 1 medium level of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

How to activate the Wi-Fi Calling feature:

You can activate the VoWiFi calling by going to Settings > Mobile network > Mobile data > Wi-Fi Calling > tap on Wi-Fi Calling slider to enable this feature.

Or via simply to Phone dialer > Settings > Wi-Fi Calling, tap the Wi-Fi Calling slider to enable this feature.


The VoWiFi feature update for Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with EMUI upgrading from and a size of over 1.06GB.
