Huawei Mate 20 lineup with HarmonyOS 2 beta receives new widget improvements

Huawei began to push a new software update for the Huawei Mate 20 series flagship under the HarmonyOS 2 beta testing. This software update brings two new optimizations that improve the overall device user experience.

According to the changelog, this latest firmware version for the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X 4G, and Mate 20 RS Porsche design optimizes Service Widgets and Display quality.

As previously, the same software improvements are also rolling out for the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. These two P30 models are also enlisted within the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing and can download this software update.

This new software update for the Huawei Mate 20 series comes with HarmonyOS 2.0.0.138 upgrading from HarmonyOS 2.0.0.127.

Battery Improvements update for 17 devices:

To be mentioned, Huawei recently begins to push a new software update for 17 Huawei devices that comes with battery improvements and FreeBuds 4 support for the Super Device feature.

Changelog:

  • Super Device: Added support for Huawei FreeBuds 4, high and low the smartphone sounds seamlessly flow to the headset.
  • Battery: Optimizes the system power consumption in some scenarios to extend the battery life.

Huawei Mate 20 series HarmonyOS 2:

Back in June, Huawei Mate 20 models began their HarmonyOS 2 saga with closed beta testing registration, allowing users to participate in the HarmonyOS testing activity.

The initial version of HarmonyOS 2 rolled out Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X 4G, and Mate 20 RS. However, the enrollment process for the Mate 20 X 5G began a bit later.

Also, the first developer build replaced the existing EMUI 11 software skin and installed a brand new operating system – HarmonyOS 2 with a number of new features as well as the new user interface.
