Huawei Mate 10 Pro users getting a new software update with system and security improvements

Launched in 2017, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro smartphone ships with EMUI 8.0 and then kicked off two major software updates, EMUI 9.0 and EMUI 10.0. Currently, this smartphone is running on EMUI 10.

In terms of the software upgrade, Huawei Mate 10 Pro received the last security patch was July 2020 patch at the end of October because it’s not a part of Huawei’s regular software system anymore.

Surprisingly, after a long time, now the company has begun sending a new software update for its old device, Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

This latest update installs the security patch released in November 2020 that fixes different levels of exploits and issue that protects your device against threats. The update also improves system stability for better performance.

However, this latest rollout is not widely available and may gradually expand to the Mate 10 Pro users.

System: Improves system stability in certain scenarios.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in November 2020 for improved system security.

November 2020 Security Patch Details: November 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVEs.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Note:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • The update will not erase any data.
