The new head of Canada’s largest telecommunication firm said Telecom equipment made by Huawei is “top notch” and he’d like to work with the Chinese telecom equipment maker in the 5G rollout.

Mirko Bibic, who took over as the CEO of Montreal based BCE, sat down in an interview with BNN Bloomberg TV and said: “We’ve worked with Huawei for 4G LTE and they’ve been a great partner”.

Bibic’s comment in this matter came at the time when the Canadian government is yet to confirm its stance on Huawei and its 5G participation.

Bibic said he’s waiting for a decision from the Canadian government on Huawei so we can adjust accordingly regardless of the outcome.
