Huawei previously announced the achievement of self-developed EDA tools for 14nm and above nodes, there is a report, which suggests that its chip designing arm, HiSilicon is continuously discussing chipset product strategy around 12nm and 14nm technology.

Huawei HiSilicon has recently launched the V811 chipset and it is proof that the company has already started making new SoC. You can read more about V811 here.

It is revealed that the tech maker is currently discussing various topics internally. However, there is some clearance needed in terms of performance inefficiency for mass production of new in-house chips.

But to inform you that there’s no official information available on this matter. And we also can’t verify the source of this report either.

So, whether Huawei HiSilicon will mass produce a 12nm or 14nm chipset soon? We’ll have to wait to find that out until something real comes out.
