HarmonyOS 3.0 Beta:

Recently, Huawei has started pushing the first HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta build for public Huawei devices registered under the beta program. According to the Chinese tech maker, the latest developer beta further improves the user experience of HarmonyOS and optimizes its use cases.

Although the changelog is not descriptive as it could be, it does reveal a few things that this version will bring. As shown in the screenshot, the HarmonyOS 3.0 will further improve the Super Device feature with new capabilities, which could be related to more platform support or similar activities.

HarmonyOS:

HarmonyOS is a cross-device multi-kernel operating system designed and developed by Huawei. After its initial launch at Huawei Developer Conference 2019, the Chinese tech maker made it open source and donated to OpenAtom Foundation to manage its open-source code.

The initial version was only supported by smart TVs but HarmonyOS 2.0 brought in a big revolution for the Huawei ecosystem as it now supports various new devices including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart home devices, and third-party hardware products with low memory consumption as well as smart car in control systems.

During the HDC 2022, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 3.0. Still, Huawei has not revealed the graphical changes that will come with this software but the company did promise that the HarmonyOS 3.0 will work on improving the core features and improve efficiency along with performance.

HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta suggests featuring enhancements for JavaScript/eTS language application developer capabilities along with concise JS/eTS language to efficiently develop complex interface applications, and at the same time obtain improvements in application startup speed. Meanwhile, it combines efforts with ArkUI and ArkComiler features to boost maximum performance.

As of now, we have not heard any launch dates for July 24 but we’ll keep you posted on any further development on HarmonyOS 3.0.
