Huawei started this week, launching a bunch of new products for its consumers, including the luxurious and intelligent large electric SUV – AITO M7. Meanwhile, the media was impatiently waiting for the company to greet and answer their most-awaited questions. To this, the CEO of Huawei, Yu Chengdong came ahead describing the high-tech talents of the company.
To begin with, the interviewers asked Yu Chengdong about his view on extended-range electric vehicles as a transitional component. Consequently, the CEO replied that if we remove the extended-range part then it is a completely electric vehicle. Moreover, no matter whether the battery of the car is compact or large, anyhow it still requires to get charged.
On the other hand, even a big battery turns out to be a burden for the vehicles. According to Yu Chengdong, the use of fuel for an extended-range electric vehicle is far more beneficial than for fuel vehicles. This is so because the electricity that is generated by the extended vehicles can be recovered. Besides, fuel vehicles often keep clutching and shifting on the road. As a result, the engine becomes inefficient to work properly. Hence, it is more efficient than fuel vehicles.
Huawei knows how to build a brand: Yu Chengdong
On the flip side, Yu Chengdong proudly states that Huawei knows how to use high-tech talents to become a world-class brand. The CEO further adds, that though the company maintains its dignity in the merchandise, it’s not an easy task. The Chinese manufacturer leads a team that had learned the experience and ability to sustain a brand after 10 years of hard work. Therefore, it is obvious that the company will not waste its technical talents on creating small stuff.
Thereafter, Chengdong confidently speaks over the new Wenjie M7. According to him, the ultra vehicle will soon gain a huge profit in the market.
“The supply is still under pressure. I believe that our M7 will sell better after it goes on the market. I hope that they can sell more than 20,000 units or even 30,000 units per month as soon as possible.”
Breaking: Huawei smartphone regains shipment growth
It’s good news, after a long time, Huawei has once again reclaimed growth in China’s smartphone market despite facing having no 5G in its new smartphones. According to the data compiled by Counterpoint research, Huawei has achieved 15% of year-over-year growth in the fourth quarter of 2022 as compared to the same quarter in 2021.
The company had 7 percent of the overall smartphone market share in Q4 2021, which recorded 9.5% in Q4 2022. This is a major difference. We could assume that the latest progress is made with the release of the Huawei Mate 50 series in October. Thereafter, Huawei customers supported the sales volume to a new milestone.
“Huawei recovered from its low base in 2021, increasing by 15% YoY in Q4. However, the brand is still unable to ship 5G-enabled devices, which is a major concern for its sales outlook.” wrote Counterpoint.
This year, Huawei is planning to launch a number of new smartphones and it’ll return to the dual flagship unveiling tradition. This means we would see the P series and Mate series launching in a single year.
The launches could further help Huawei to increase its growth in share among Chinese consumers to rank better in Q2 2023 smartphone market results.
In Q4 2022, Apple gained captured 23.7% of the market, maintaining its leading position. But it registered a double-digit YoY decline like major Android OEMs.
All the major OEMs offered stronger promotions during the Singles’ Day online sales festival. They also used the sales promotion season to shed excess inventory. Smartphone sales surged MoM, but the rise didn’t sustain into December when COVID-19 started spreading fast.
Coming to overall sales, China’s smartphone sales declined 14% year over year in 2022, which is counted as the slowest smartphone growth in the last decade. It’s also the fifth year that China recorded continued to decline.
In Q4 2022, China’s smartphone market declined by 15%, and a similar result has been seen throughout the past three quarters.
iOS, Android, HarmonyOS: Huawei lists difference

Android is an operating system designed based on the Linux macro kernel. There are many devices equipped with Android and a wide range of choices. It has a rich ecosystem, high customization, and good compatibility.
Disadvantages: General security, and open source system brings disadvantages of uncontrollable software APP quality.
The HarmonyOS has modularized features, and the microkernel driver enables the system to be disassembled, which reduces the requirements for hardware specifications. Such low requirements allow it to be installed on small devices, such as earphones and smartwatches. HarmonyOS devices can also be connected to each other to achieve a seamless connection.
Disadvantages: The system has been put into use for a short time, and there are currently fewer software developers and system users.

The theme of “Created by Matepad” is to draw the future of Dubai’s transportation in 2020 with this tablet. Huawei has announced to host from one of Dubai’s schools to experience digital art with the Huawei MatePad tablet.
According to the information, the Draw with Matepad competition opened at Huawei Experience Store, Deira City Centre from January 20th to January 29th.
