Huawei and Beijing Unicom jointly launched 5G super uplink on a large scale

On May 10, 2021, Huawei and Beijing Unicom concurrently originated the 5G super uplink on a massive scale with the number of hundreds of uplink sites in Beijing. After the deployment, the uplink rate is risen by 40% per user while the uplink rate of edge users Increase by 50%-200%.

Afterward, Huawei informed that this action leads towards the way of a smart era, which satisfies the customers’ demand of experiencing the 5G high-definition video. simultaneously, it also promises the 5G live broadcast, and fast upload of large files.

This deployment work is completed under the 5G Application “Sailing” Action Plan (2021-2023), which is proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It aims to exceed the number of users by 560 million and the 5G network access traffic accounted for more than 50%.

Beijing Unicom has been working on the 5G uplink services for three years. In this line, it has connected the Spring Festival Gala 5G+4K live broadcast, National Day 5G live broadcast, Simatai Great Wall 5G slow live broadcast, and e-sports 5G+8K live broadcast.

After all the efforts, Beijing Unicom and Huawei have successfully completed the first batch of hundreds of super uplink sites in Beijing covering the Chang’an Street, Financial Street, 798 Art Center, and other key landmark areas.
