The 5G network technology, the fifth generation of wireless technology offers more than just a faster network such as reduced latency, and improve the flexibility of wireless services.
Most of the network carriers firm had been launched the 5G cellular network and some are still working on it. In this line, according to the latest information Huawei and Suzhou mobile recently completed a 5G indoor positioning capabilities authentication in the Suzhou Metro.
After the hidden positioning of the underground base station pRRU, it’s observed that 90% of the subway platform including the station hall has been recognized with 3 to 5 meters positioning preciseness of the wireless network.
As per the information, it is also considered as the first-ever live network verification of the 5G internal positioning function in the world. It is also said that this is the first time in the history of Suzhou Mobile, where the company used Huawei’s 5G LampSite+MEC inward arrangement solution for the subway.
To be mentioned, China Mobile Suzhou Software Technology Co., Ltd (AKA China Mobile Suzhou R&D Center), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., works to provide customers with complete solutions, professional industry applications, and comprehensive services.
About the LampSite and MEC (Multi-access Edge Computing) technology used in this procedure, it measures the wireless signal characteristic parameters of the 5G terminal and uses a positioning algorithm to estimate the physical position of the terminal through the joint effort of both the technology.
Regarding this matter, Huawei added that by using the LampSite+MEC technology it’s easier to deliver 5G inward arrangement technology to make a mass network, which promises the 5G communication and positioning capabilities at the same time.
On the other hand, Huawei just concluded the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC 2021). The event provides a platform for experts across academia and industry to discuss and promote the development of wireless communications and network technologies.

New Huawei Hongmeng trademark clashes with first one, got rejected
Today, Beijing Intellectual Property Court gave the first instance judgment on Huawei’s appeal against the State Intellectual Property Office for the rejection of the Hongmeng trademark.
To be mentioned, Hongmeng is the Chinese name of the HarmonyOS, the trademark has been in controversy once before.
The court has rejected the plea of plaintiff Huawei filed because it was dissatisfied with the decision of the rejection of the “Hongmeng HongMeng” trademark by the State Intellectual Property Office.
The lawsuit was refused because the disputed Hongmeng HongMeng trademark was found similar to cited trademark Hongmeng in terms of text composition, call, meaning, and have constituted similar trademark signs.
However, if the trademark was passed and used together with cited trademark then it will definitely cause confusion and misidentification of services among the consumers.
According to the information, this trademark’s international classification was involved 38 types of communication services. To be mentioned, Huawei had filed a plea against 42 types of “Hongmeng” trademarks, which were also judged similarly.
In this dispute case plaintiff Huawei’s clarifications:
- The overall meaning of the disputed trademark and cited trademark is distinct and does not constitute a similar trademark used for the same or similar services.
- The cited trademark has been in the process of revocation of non-use for three consecutive years, and the state of rights is unstable, and the trial of this case is requested to be suspended.
- The trademark in dispute is the original design of the plaintiff, which has been well-known after long-term publicity, which will not cause confusion and misunderstanding by the relevant public.
On the other hand, the defendant argued that the facts were clear, the applicable law was correct, and the procedures were legal and requested the court to deny the plaintiff’s request for trial.
