According to the information coming from Weibo, Honor’s upcoming 5G smartphone – Vera30/V30 will come with 90Hz refresh rate display but the flagship Huawei Mate 30 may have the regular 60Hz display.

Honor Vera30 series with Kirin 990 (5G) officially confirmed for launch later this year

For your information, the display’s refresh rate is responsible for showing smooth visual frames on the screen and the faster it refreshes, the better UI, Media, or Game experience will be delivered to the user.

Launched last year, Honor V20 was quite a success for the company and 64bit games such as Fortnite runs maximum at 60FPS on this smartphone, this is why it’s adopted also by the gamers.

So, as a successor and a 5G smartphone, Honor Vera30 has to serve better picture quality, better AR/VR and better overall display viewing experience. That’s why the company may choose to go with a 90Hz display.

However, we don’t know why a premium smartphone such as Huawei Mate 30 series will come with 60Hz display, as there are also a few implications that the 5G version may get a higher refresh rate but yet to confirmed as this smartphone series will be unveiled on September 19 in Munich, Germany.
