Honor Play starts receiving February EMUI security update

Finally, the February security has started to roll out for Honor smartphones and the Honor Play is selected to be the first global recipient of this new security enhancement.

According to the information, users of Honor Play are receiving a new EMUI update which brings the latest security improvements. Other than its security patch, there’s no new change noticed in the changelog.

The February 2020 security comes with Google security patches and fixes 2 critical and 20 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

One of the critical CVE-2020-0022 AKA BlueFrag is also fixed in this update, which allows silent code execution on the device that leads to data theft and spreading malware.

EMUI Versions:

Honor Play is receiving this update with EMUI version 9.1.0.365 and 255MB in package size.

Note: EMUI version and size may vary depending on the region/country

EMUI 10:

Honor has denied EMUI 10 for Honor Play, but if anything new appears about these devices, we’ll keep you posted.

Open HiCare/Support app
Click on ‘Services’ tab
Click on ‘Update
Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES
Click on ‘Download and install
