After its success and backward compatibility, the Huawei HarmonyOS operating system has become the benchmark in the Chinese software industry and Honor also wants to catch up with its fluency with the upcoming MagicOS 8.0.

On the sideline of the Honor 90 Series, CEO Zhao Ming was asked about the comparison between MagicOS with HarmonyOS and iOS. He claimed that the fluency of Honor MagicOS and HarmonyOS is the same in many cases.

He also mentioned that Apple uses its own chipset and iOS software, which is different from Android. But, he thinks there’s a wide room to compete with the iPhone maker.

Honor CEO said that MagicOS 8.0 will be a major upgrade for Honor smartphones. He also promised that Honor’s software will level up quite big with HarmonyOS.

I Strongly Disagree:

Honor is still using the Android operating system in the bottom layer and HarmonyOS is completely different. Aside from these, HarmonyOS has introduced many new features including service widgets and large folders with the past version, which have been copied by almost all Android phones including Honor.

Furthermore, the latest HarmonyOS 3.1 takes the entire user experience to a new level. Huawei has added new animations, improved fluency, and optimized performance.

These things are now even harder to achieve for Android phones as well as for Honor. However, there’s always space for improvement and Honor is in the right direction.
