Google apps are essential for any Android smartphone and are popular among consumers. This popularity is related to the core services that have inbuilt accessibility for your Android-powered device. However, Huawei is one of the phone makers that had to leave Google apps access after the U.S. ban but recently, the Chinese tech maker has published a fresh comment on this matter.

A Twitter user asked about Google Mobile Services (GMS) on the Huawei P50 Pro smartphone that was recently launched in the global market. The user wanted to know whether the Huawei P50 Pro has Google apps pre-installed but since it comes with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).

Unfortunately, the post is deleted by the official Huawei account but we’ve taken a screenshot of the corresponding information.

Huawei wrote:

“The Huawei P50 Pro has no Google services. The Huawei P50 Pro has no Google services. The Huawei P50 Pro comes with Huawei’s own HarmonyOS.

This means the Chinese tech maker has confirmed that HarmonyOS is the base software of EMUI 12. Since the P50 Pro is packed with EMUI 12, the statement clearly tags in Google apps in the discussion.

EMUI 12 will remove Google Apps?

Huawei is currently rolling out EMUI 12 for old devices and also included devices that has been launched pre-installed Google apps on board including:

  1. Huawei P30
  2. Huawei P30 Pro
  3. Huawei Mate 20
  4. Huawei Mate 20 Pro
  5. Huawei Mate 20 RS

These phones users have not reported any such issues related to Google apps after upgrading to EMUI 12. Therefore, if you have any GMS-powered EMUI 11 device or previous EMUI version, you can upgrade to EMUI 12 without any worries.

EMUI 12 comes with various new features including a brand new control panel, notification panel, new animations for a better user experience as well as a bunch of other customizations that will enhance the app processing.

Other than the overall look and features, the EMUI 12 looks similar to the HarmonyOS operating system, which summaries it’s matchmaking as a base software but EMUI 12 also supports Android apps from its relationship with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) library.
