Huawei Developer Conference 2019: Schedule, Activities, Announcements and More

Huawei has set the time and avenue for its 2019 Developer Conference that will be officially kick off in Dongguan City, China from August 9 to 11.

Also, this is the first time when the company held an official developer conference at the company’s headquarters, showing its importance and now become one of the most hyped developer party Huawei has ever organized.

Although the company will make several announcements but there are a few that the consumers want to know about and eagerly looking forward to.

So let’s look at the details of HDC 2019 and at the end we’ll discuss the potential announcements that can take place at the event.

HDC 2019 is promoted as a new technological revolution for next-gen technologies including 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT).

According to Huawei, there will be more than 200 themed sessions and will be attended by around 1500 industry partners of Huawei, as well as about 5000 global developers.

Events

August 9, 2019 Afternoon at 14:30 (GMT+8): The conference will start with the keynote speech in Dongguan Basketball Center at the intersection of Dongguan Eastern Express Road and Songshan Lake Avenue in Liaobu Town, Dongguan City.

August 10 – August 11, Technology Forum: Includes discussion and live demos to the following subjects. Huawei Xiliubeipo Village, Huanhu Road, Dongguan City.

Announcements:

Although, this year’s HDC is themed for 5G, AI and IoT but the main anticipation of this conference is the announcement of a new operating system, which the company has developed to use as an Android alternative but expected to arrive in Honor branded Smart TV.

Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei announced on Weibo that there’s a new technology coming at the event. Also, Dr. Wang Chenglu, President of Software Engineering, Huawei Consumer Business Group AKA the caretaker of EMUI also joining the event.

Both of these officials are confirmed for the keynote speech and it’s expected that they have something big on their sleeves, apart from the launch of EMUI 10.

On August 10, Honor president, Zhao Ming will unveil its new Smart Screen (TV) with a new operating system (Hongmeng).

Other announcement includes an update on Huawei Mate X, 5G development and its role, new SDK and development tools for developers.
