EMUI 9.1 rollout for these seven Huawei smartphones starting this week in India

Huawei India today officially announced the roll-out of EMUI 9.1 for its 8 most popular smartphones in India and the dates of the rollout phases.

In the first phase, Huawei P20 Lite will receive the EMUI 9.1 update. Huawei Y9 2019, Huawei Nova 3i, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Nova 3 will receive the update in the second phase, next week, beginning 24th July.

Huawei P30 Lite and Huawei P20 Pro will receive the update in the last phase and the entire roll-out will be completed by 7th August 2019. The users can expect to see the OTA update notification in the next few days.

EMUI 9.1 is based on Android 9 (Pie) and brings improved performance, new wallpapers, and icons, GPU Turbo 3.0, EROFS, Huawei Vlog, and much more.

We recommend eligible device holder to continuesly check for updates during the above-mentioned timeline.

If you want to check for the update manually you can do this by following the instruction below:

EMUI 9X Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, it’ll ask if you want to download it.

EMUI 8X Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, it’ll ask if you want to download it.

If the update does not appear in the settings, we recommend you to request it via HiCare App:

Go to HiCare app > tap on Update > click on the checkbox and hit Apply.
