EMUI 10 Tip: How to activate Blue Light Filter

Published

on

Nowadays most smartphone users interact with the phone for prolonged hours and sometimes it leads to eye strain and eye fatigue. This is due to the blue light that emits from the smartphone’s display.

In Huawei phones, you can reduce blue-light via the Eye Comfort feature. The Eye Comfort mode decreases the amount of blue light displayed on the screen of the device. Blue light can suppress the production of melatonin (sleep-inducing hormone), so filtering it out can help you sleep better.

It will also reduce digital eye strain, so your eyes won’t feel so tired by the end of the day. As well as providing ease while checking on-screen content within your phone at night time.

Activate Eye Comfort mode:

There are two ways you can activate Eye Comfort – first from Notification Panel and second from Settings.

Note: Eye comfort options in the settings menu have more options to manage Blue light filter.

Via Status Bar:

  1. Open Notification Panel
  2. Expand Shortcuts
  3. Enable or Disable Eye Comfort.

Via Settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Display & brightness
  3. Eye comfort
  4. Tap on Enable switch to enable/disable Eye comfort.

Eye Comfort mode scheduling:

You can configure your phone to enable Eye comfort mode for a set period of time each day.

  1. Enable Scheduled
  2. Set Start time
  3. Set End time

Eye comfort color adjustment:

One Eye comfort mode is enabled, blue will be filtered out and the screen will show a mild yellow tint overlay. This is by default but you can adjust the color temperature as required:

  • Color temperature > adjust the Slider to choose from cooler or warmer screen color.
