5G integrated application is an important engine to promote the digital, networked, and smart transformation of the economy and society. In order to implement the important decisions and deployments of various national ministries and commissions on accelerating the development of 5G. It is also to promote the integrated development of the new generation of information and communication technology and advanced manufacturing.

CATL is cooperating with industry-leading partners such as Huawei, Dahua, and Ningde Times to complete the world’s first new energy industry 5G RedCap commercial verification. Ningde Times has established 47 5G+ smart factories, explored a number of high-value 5G business scenarios, and continued to innovate around 5G technology to drive 5G application upgrades with value.

With the rapid development of business every year, about 50 new factories will be built in the future, and there will be large-scale 5G connection opportunities in various fields of industrial scenarios.

5G provides a unified digital interface, greatly reduces the construction and maintenance costs of wired networks, shortens the new construction period, and also provides flexible adjustment convenience for terminals. Ningde Mobile together with Huawei and Dahua completed the industrial scene verification based on 5G RedCap modules at the production site.

5G RedCap:

5G RedCap, also known as lightweight 5G, is a new technology for networking and network usage in massive scenarios. It uses the advantages of 5G large bandwidth, enhanced features (uRLLC, 5G LAN), and cloud-based architecture.

It is also a new technology for other 5G technologies. The indicators are simplified to obtain a “light 5G” that is low-cost, low-power, and more suitable for large-scale applications in industrial scenarios.

Focusing on RedCap’s large-scale network use, Ningde Mobile, together with Huawei and Ningde Times, started planning for “light 5G” network equipment and network architecture upgrades.

Also, preparations for the implementation of more abundant applications will be launched. With the successful verification of the first batch of 5G RedCap industrial application scenarios in the Ningde era, more partners will inevitably launch “light 5G” industrial terminals, allowing more manufacturing companies to carry out 5G industrial interconnection lightly to help build a 5G+ smart factory.
