HarmonyOS 220 million users

On December 23, 2021, Huawei announced that HarmonyOS operating system has achieved 220 million users on smart devices. Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO, Yu Chengdong has announced that this is a great achievement for HarmonyOS as it’s now the fastest-growing operating system in the world.

The 220 million smartphone aim is not a short way to talk about and the company expects to take it further with next year’s launches. So, far, HarmonyOS remained exclusive for the Chinese market but the company may unveil it for global consumers in 2022. Still, an official confirmation is yet to come.

Launched on June 2, 2021, HarmonyOS for smartphones brings a new user experience compared to Android-based EMUI. This includes a new user interface along with a brand new design concept as well as animation effects.

Features such as App Snippets and Control Panel make the most out of your phone’s home screen and Super Device will take care of all of the smart devices from one place without installing any third-party mobile app.

During the launch event, the Chinese tech maker also announced a jumbo size upgrade roadmap that was scheduled to be completed throughout the first half of 2022. This roadmap includes over 100 models from different categories including:

  1. Smartphones
  2. Tablets
  3. Smart TVs

However, Huawei the schedule was only for a brief timeline. Meanwhile, Huawei has already completed the rollout of HarmonyOS for the listed model way ahead of time. That’s not it, the long list of the device consists of old models that have long been removed from regular software updates such as Huawei Mate 9 and P10 flagship.

The 220 million HarmonyOS users milestone is greatly supported by the exiting Huawei device users. So, there’s no doubt that the new features and farthest possible compatibility has allured them to join the HarmonyOS mobile operating system ecosystem.

This is just the beginning as the company continues to unravel new smart devices featured with the HarmonyOS operating system.
