April 2022 security update goes live for Honor Play 3

Huawei is sending the April 2022 update for Honor Play 3 smartphone, which mainly installs the security improvements. As it enhances the security of the smartphone system by fixing different levels of exploits and issues.

According to the information, Honor Play 3 smartphone’s April 2022 update is rolling out with 3.1.0.165, which is updated from Magic UI version 3.1.0.164. Therefore, we recommend you update as soon as possible to get the best out of your device.

Aside from system security, the latest update doesn’t bring any other additional features or changes. Well, the April 2022 security patch fixes for common vulnerabilities including 1 CVE in the framework, 1 CVE in Kernel, 1 CVE in the system, 7 CVEs in applications, and 39 CVEs were resolved in third-party libraries.

As always, the latest software version is pushed in batches and steadily reaches the users. However, the continuously update rollouts further improve the functionality of this device as well as its performance.

How to get the updates?

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the My Huawei app. To do this, open the My Huawei app, go to the Support tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

Although this update won’t delete your personal data we suggest you make a backup of your personal data. Also, maintain enough storage and battery to download and install the update package as well as use an unmetered data connection.
