6 changes HarmonyOS 4.0 beta

A few days ago, Huawei began to rollout HarmonyOS 4.0 beta for developers and we brought you 6 of the key changes and improvements made with this release based on the feedback of a developer. Still, the company may further improve or remove any feature until the software reaches stability mode.

Let’s dive into this.

  • Fluency
  • Task management
  • Animations
  • Notification bar
  • Control panel widgets including music
  • Dark mode

Fluency:

HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta brings new fluency, which enables fast app loads and better multitasking. For example, touch interactions are slightly more rapid than in the previous version. Such changes also appears during the app switch.

Task Management:

The HarmonyOS 4.0 dev beta provides better task management. Aside from fast app loadings, the background activity is uplifted with new optimizations. The app can now remain in action for longer than HarmonyOS 3.0. But the app section may receive further endurance in the upcoming build.

Animations:

HarmonyOS 3.1 was the biggest upgrade in animations since the launch of this operating system. However, HarmonyOS 4.0 takes this concept two steps further, the company has added new fluidity between UI transitions and UI elements.

Also, there are no major changes noted in the visual UI at the moment but we may see that in the consumer-friendly beta builds.

Notification Center:

The notification is under a new overhaul, which now has a more classified view. There is a new real-time blur in notifications, which will further increase notification privacy.

Control Panel:

HarmonyOS 4.0 dev beta has also allocated changes to Control Panel. The new additions include an optimized music widget and the UI is also improved. For sure, the music listening experience will be improved.

Dark Mode:

The initial developer build has optimized the dark mode and developer feedback revealed that a new animation is added to give it a better look.

Conclusion:

To note, there may be more key changes coming in the next beta HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta rollout but these 6 takeaways are also awesome to hype us for the next rollout.
