Standard Huawei P70 reportedly to use Omnivision OV50H rear main camera lens
Standard Huawei P70 will be the younger sibling in the next flagship P-series and the latest input suggests that the model may use a new Omnivision OV50H rear main camera sensor. This implementation will ultimately boost the resolution and image quality.
The Wall Street Journal has recently shared some input based on its supply chain sources and depicted that the standard Huawei P70 variant will adopt the Omnivision OV50H rear main camera. The detail is quite in line with previous revelations.
So far, Huawei has been testing several camera sensors for the premium P70 models. Two of them are hearsay to be OV50H and OV50K. Ahead, a blogger mentioned that at least two variants from the upcoming P lineup will use the OV50H lens.
Now the Wall Street Journal has shed more light on this matter based on the supply chain report. The dynamic 1-inch 50MP sensor is already imposed on the Xiaomi 14 series, Honor Magic 6 series, and the newly launched Meizu 21 Pro model.

The iconic 1.2-micron pixel high-resolution sensor has a 1/1.3 optical format. It runs on the dual conversion gain (DCG) tech which improves the dynamic range without increasing the noise in images. Thus, you obtain a detailed and smooth outcome.

On the flip side, the OV50H sensor consists of PureCel Plus-S chip stacking and horizontal/vertical quad-phase detection technology. Together, these enable 2 x 2 phase detection autofocus for distance estimations, 100% coverage within the same frame, and improved low-light snaps.
Omnivision OV50H is capable of 8K and 4K video resolution with 120 frames/second and 60 frames/second in HDR. It also supports the 2x crop zoom functionality.
According to previous details, the OV50H rear main camera sensor may integrate with an upgraded variable aperture technology for a boastful optical experience. Overall, the standard P70 variant could be perfect in all aspects.
Huawei P70 series is in rumors to bring satellite communication tech for all models. The difference could be visible in satellite features as well as Kirin chipsets.
