SK Hynix sees 57% annual net profit increase in Q2 2021 financial report

Today, the leading South Korean semiconductor firm- SK Hynix shares its business financial report for the second quarter of 2021. The report discloses the company’s net profit, memory market revenue, and its future plan for the DRAM chips.

As per the information, the net profit of SK Hynix has been accounted a 100% of sequential and 57% of annual net profit increase. The company has recorded an increase of KRW1.99 trillion, which is about a 1.73billion USD in the second quarter of this year.

Furthermore, SK Hynix reported total revenue of KRW10.32 trillion for Q2 2021 with a steady growth of 22%, which is 2% more than the last year’s revenue for the same quarter. Adding to this, the overall earnings show a sequential growth of 103% and annual growth of 38%.  Besides, the company accounts for KRW2.7 trillion with 26% of the operating margin.

SK Hynix’s business is growing day by day, and this growth graph proves this fact. This is the first time in the history of SK Hynix when the company’s quarterly revenue exceeded over KRW10 trillion. Also, its memory market performance has significantly improved since this year.

A memory chip vendor of the company states that finally, it’s the time when the company’s noted this much of revenue after the Q3 in 2018.

Memory Chips Market:

Coming to the memory chips market, since the start of the second quarter the laptop, graphic cards, consumer electronics, and other products are in high market demand. The company’s ace technology such as 1ynm and 1znm DRAM, and 128-layer 3D NAND flash chips, etc also made a great contribution to the revenue.

Future Plan:

Besides, SK Hynix shares the plans about the DRAM chip supply. As informed by the company, before the end of the second quart the DRAM Chip production based on EUV 1anm process technology will be initiated. However, the DDR5 DRAM mass production is set for the second half of this year.

Simultaneously the company also informed, the 128-layer NAND Flash chip production for smartphones and SSDs will be initiate by the end of the second half of 2021, while the 176-layer NAND flash chips will take more time.
