With the launch of the Huawei P40 series, Huawei is the first smartphone to unveil the quad curved overflow display that curves at all four edges and provides a new and unique experience to the consumers. The company has recently submitted a new patent with some amazing addition to its quad curved display innovation.

In May 2020 Huawei applied for a mobile phone patent to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Office). The patent mainly consists of 7 sketches and 2 colored renders that were released on January 12, 2021. (Found by LetsGoDigital)

According to the information, the patent shows a smartphone with a pretty familiar quad curved display curved edges. The main attraction of this patent includes its top edge, which works as a status bar and allows users to check important details such as time, battery level, and signal strength.

It can also be seen that the sketch doesn’t have any visible camera punch hole or notch design to house a selfie cam. Instead, it seems like there’s an under-display camera tech used in this phone.

The design of the phone is quite elegant and premium. Coming to the back the phone has a big camera bump including a Quad camera system arranged in a square formation. Followed by an LED flash right below the cameras.

Furthermore, it has volume adjustment + power keys on the right side and the USB Type-C port on the bottom. Other sides remain plain. Apart from this information, there’s no confirmation about the hardware specs used in this patent as there’s no confirmation about its production either.
