Petal Maps, Celia voice assistant and February security update rolling out for Huawei Mate 40 Pro

In mid-March 2021, it was reported that Huawei will soon release a new software update for Mate 40 Pro smartphone that brings the new apps to the system.

Now, Huawei has begun sending the latest firmware build version for Mate 40 Pro users. This firmware update installs the Petal Maps, Celia Voice assistance as well as a security patch released in February 2021 for improved system security.

According to the changelog, Petal Maps allows map browsing, navigation, and air gestures, search for places more. While Celia is the company’s personal voice assistant and will be ready to help users once activated.

Version details: Huawei Mate 40 Pro users can identify this update with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.168 (C432E5R4P1). This update comes with a package size of 0.93GB. Currently, this update is rolling out in Europe and soon expand to other regions.

Added apps: 

  • AI Voice: Adds AI Voice. Say “Hello Celia” or press and hold the power button for a second to activate the voice assistant and give a voice command or ask a question.
  • Petal Maps app: It provides high-quality services for location, navigation, and real-time traffic information, making travel easier and more convenient.

Security:

  • Integrates the Android security patch released in February 2021.

February 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical and 26 high levels, and 77 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
