Over 1.2 million developers joined HarmonyOS ecosystem, increasing very fast

Huawei’s self-developed software is continuously breaking the records. According to the latest report from Security Times, the number of HarmonyOS developers has surpassed the 1.2 million mark and more than 300 application partners have contributed to the HM OS ecosystem.

At the July 29 launch conference, Huawei’s Consumer Business President Yu Changdong confirmed that the HM OS has been installed in around 40 million devices since its launch on June 02.

The Chinese tech giant previously aimed to cover around 300 million devices to the new HarmonyOS 2.0 by the year-end. But looking at the speed of rollouts, the company has expanded this goal to 360 million devices.

The HarmonyOS 2.0 comes with huge changes over EMUI software including several new features as well as UI changes.

Furthermore, it comes with a brand new home screen, service widgets, HarmonyOS fonts, smart folder, Huawei share, collaborative security, and much more. Check out all the HM OS 2 features here.

However, this new software is currently available for Chinese users, while the users in the global market are still waiting for their turn to test the HarmonyOS 2.0.

HarmonyOS ecosystem:

And now, after two months, the number of developers has grown two folds. Huawei is expecting big from its new OS and it is continuously working on improving the user experience based on the developer feedback.

Moreover, Huawei also offered third-party device makers to use HarmonyOS in their devices. It is not just limited to smartphones and tablets, but also available for smart vehicles and the smart home section, on which the company is continuously working.
