Huawei FreeBuds 5i is receiving a new firmware update, which installs a brand new triple-tap gesture feature. The company is adding this functionality to ease up the operations of this ear wearable product.

According to the changelog, the update only installs new features with HarmonyOS 2.1 version 2.1.0.202. Specifically, the update brings a triple-tap gesture, in which you can set the gesture to none, or for the left/right earbud to play the previous or next track.

Also, the Huawei FreeBuds 5i update will add voice prompts for double-tap and triple-tap gesture features. Upon double/triple tapping, there are two or three pinging sounds (depending on how many times you tapped).

The latest feature will help the user to establish a perfect multimedia experience including the double tap gesture as a play/pause command and the triple tap gesture to be a next/previous song. Users of the Huawei FreeBuds 5i can download the latest software update using the Huawei AI Life app.
