According to the current development plan, Huawei will push new camera features with EMUI 14 software update later this year. This includes the new zoom controls and quick menu below the shutter button.
The zoom control now includes a dialer to change the zoom range with a rotatable action. It’s similar to a DSLR button on a camera. Aside from these, the quick menu below includes options from the camera app status bar but with better reachability. These two additions to the stock camera app indicate to simplify the rule of thumb for better navigation.
For those who don’t know, Huawei launched these changes first with EMUI 13.1 on Huawei P60 Pro. Yet, this EMUI version won’t be released for old smartphones. In that case, we’ll have to wait for the next major software update.
HarmonyOS 4 Developer beta
Also, Huawei made big progress in HarmonyOS 4.0 test in China and its features will be used in EMUI 14 software update. Furthermore, we may see new animations in the upcoming EMUI version.
Currently, Huawei is testing EMUI 13 beta for global phones and the company may take some time to release a stable update. Meanwhile, Huawei could aim at the launch of the Huawei Mate 60 series to release EMUI 14 around October or November.
