Huawei P40 series equips with one of the best camera technologies available on the market, which helped the P40 Pro to achieve 128 points on the DXOMARK.

The Huawei P40 series comes with a Triple, Quad, and Penta cameras including a 50MP ultra vision Leica camera, Telephoto camera, Cine camera, and ToF camera.

In addition to the camera lens, these devices come with the ToF transmitter, which is barely noticeable, and the color temperature sensor supporting 8 color channels multi-spectrum.

However, there could be some photography issues that you may face, if you apply a third-party protective case these devices that particularly covers its camera bump.

Vice President of Huawei Consumer Business Group Handset Division – Bruce Lee recently revealed that third-party protective cases can block the ToF sensors in P40 Pro and P40 Pro+. Since Huawei P40 doesn’t have the ToF camera, the case could block its laser autofocus.

The effect of blocking the ToF and Laser Autofocus sensor will directly reflect on “Autofocus”, capturing out of focus images.

In addition to protective cases, Lee also mentioned about the protective film (including glass films), as it will not only affect focus but also the image quality.

Lee also said that Huawei has spent a big sum of money to protect the lens from outside and it is made of ultra-hard anti-reflective double coating that doesn’t require to be protected by third-party protective films or tempered glass.
