In the first quarter of this year, Huawei beat Apple for the second place in the global smartphone market and the latest data from industry analyst shows that Huawei has now achieved the second rank among top mobile vendor in Europe.
According to the data generated by IDC, Huawei has accounted for a total 13.5 million smartphone shipment with 25.39% market share and 66.13% of rapid growth rate. Above Huawei, Samsung ranked first on the list with a total of 15.7 million shipments and a decline of 6.8%.
It’s worth noting that Apple’s sales in Europe seen a sharp decline – 22.73% in growth, and shipped 7.8 million units in the region.
“In brands, Huawei continued to make incremental advances, and so did Xiaomi, while Apple had a tough quarter, with its 23% market share across Europe the lowest Q1 result in five years,” said Marta Pinto, research manager at IDC EMEA.
The industry analyst also suggested that Huawei may see growth decline due to the US trade restrictions if it’s not reverted.
