Huawei Y9s gets Huawei Assistant and Smart Charge with April EMUI update

Huawei Y9s on EMUI 10 getting a new update that brings this smartphone new feature such as Huawei Assistant, Smart Charging, as well as the new security patches for improved system security and user experience.

We reported previously that Huawei is expanding the reach of Huawei Assistant and Smart Charge to its previously released smartphones including from both Huawei and Honor campaigns. Also, the rollout with these features will continue to expand to more devices.

Huawei Y9s update Changelog:

Huawei Assistant: Adds Huawei Assistant to the home screen, providing smart reminders personalized news, and other content relevant to you.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in April 2020 for improved system security.

Smart Charge: Not mentioned in the changelog, but it’s part of the update.

Details:

Huawei Assistant: Huawei Assistant provides smart reminders, personalized news, and other content relevant to you. The assistant is accessible via the home screen.

Just swipe right on the home screen to access Huawei Assistant (or left if you are using a bi-directional language). Huawei Assistant can’t be accessed directly from AppGallery.

Smart Charge: Preserve battery health by adapting to your charging routine. Charging may be paused to delay charging your device to 100% until needed.

Activate (default): Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Smart Charge.

April 2020 Security: April 2020 security update includes patches from Google and brings fixes to 5 critical, 12 high, and 1 medium level of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

VERSION:

Huawei Y9s getting these new features and system improvements with EMUI version 10.0.0.203 and the update size of 575MB.
