Huawei will launch a new foldable with large cover screen and 4520mAh battery

A leak has revealed that Huawei is planning to launch a new small foldable phone with a large cover screen. Tipster DigitalChatStation sayinig that Huawei has a small folding phone in the testing phase. And it comes with a new customized high-frequency PWM dimming main display. This could be a major change in the world of small-screen foldable phones.

Interestingly, this phone will fetch with a large cover screen, which is also a major development for the Huawei smartphone. Although the tipster has not revealed the identity of the device but since the company has already released a side folding smartphone – Mate X3 earlier this year, it’s time that we see a Pocket S2 or P60 Pocket could be the next edition of flip-style Huawei device.

Moving further, this flip device will feature two batteries, one on top and another on the bottom. The capacities are – 1250mAh+3170mAh, forming a combined capacity of 4520mAh. Also, it supports 66W of superfast charging.

Huawei Mate 60 series:

Regarding the launch date, it’s noted that the phone could launch in the second half of this year. However, there’s a big possibility that we might see it alongside the Huawei Mate 60 series, which is also scheduled to go online around September or October.

Huawei currently has not affirmed this new device via official channels. Meanwhile, we can look at the current flip Huawei phone’s specs.

Huawei Pocket S:

This flip device features a 6.9-inch main display, which folds vertically with 1.07 billion colors, P3 wide color gamut. It has an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 300 Hz touch sampling rate.

I wonder, what would be the new PWM dimming Huawei has chosen for the next flip phone? We’ll have to wait to find that out. Huawei Pocket S and P50 Pocket sport a small circular cover screen of 1.04 inches. This screen sits becomes operatable while the phone is folded.
