Huawei Watch GT 2e gets SpO2 feature update, Watch GT also gets fixes

On March 26, Huawei announced its latest flagship smartphone – Huawei P40 series. Alongside this lineup, Huawei also introduced a new smartwatch – Huawei Watch GT 2e, which is the first watch to come SpO2 feature. Following its launch, the watch now receiving this via an OTA update.

In addition, Huawei Watch GT also receiving a new software update with fixes for previously found bugs and improves the system.

Huawei Watch GT 2e:

  • Introduces a feature for adding workouts on the watch.
  • Adds features for measuring SpO2.

This update for Huawei Watch GT 2e comes with software version 1.0.1.20 and weighs over 50.09 MB.

SpO2 feature that allows users to track their blood oxygen saturation levels for their health and fitness. SpO2, also known as blood oxygen saturation, is a measure of the amount of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin relative to the total hemoglobin in the blood.

Huawei Watch GT:

  • Fixes some known issues.

The latest update for Huawei Watch GT comes with software version 1.0.11.20 and an update package size of 2.84MB.

Recently, the Huawei Watch GT 2 has also upgraded with the SpO2 feature. The Watch GT 2 42mm received a new menstrual cycle tracking.

Note: The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach out to your wearables.

A few things to know before the update:

  1. The update progress in the app is just for transferring the update package, it still needs to be installed on the watch for the update to complete.
  2. The watch needs to have at least 20% battery to update.

How to update:

Connect the watch to your phone using the Huawei Health app, open the app, touch Devices, touch the device name, choose Firmware update, then follow the onscreen instructions to update your watch if there are any new updates.
