Huawei to reportedly merge automobile into the consumer business, Richard Yu to be in charge

Huawei is growing its appearance into the automobile business and the source indicates that the company is preparing to bring this business into the mainstream.

According to a report from Chinese media, Huawei Consumer Busines will soon including the smart car solution business. Meanwhile, the Huawei CBG chief will be directing this business unit as well.

Source suggests that the two departments have merged at the investment level and there has been no change in personnel and business pattern. Currently, Huawei operates under three major BGs and two major BUs. BG businesses are operator BG, enterprise BG, and consumer BG. BU business includes Cloud & AI BU (cloud business) and smart car solution BU.

Huawei is yet to confirm this new officially.
