Huawei surpasses Apple in Q1 2024 Chinese smartphone market: Report

BCI research organization recently published the Chinese smartphone market data for Q1 2024 where Huawei has once again overtaken Apple with its phone shipments. The company settled on the third position with a slight difference from other firms.

The overall figures show that Vivo, Huawei, Honor, and Apple retained a strong position in the phone franchise during the first quarter of 2024. Vivo including iQOO obtained first place with a market share of 16.9% and 11.558 million units shipment.

Honor showed up at the second spot as it sold around 10.742 million units in Q1 2024. A major credit for this achievement goes to the all-new Magic 6 series and the Magic V2 Porsche Design foldable that recently arrived in the Chinese smartphone market.

Third comes Huawei with 15.5% of the market share in the Q1 2024 Chinese smartphone ground. The company has surpassed Apple with a small difference in the shipment capacity – 10.584 million units. While Apple fell by 20% YoY with 10.569 million units.

Huawei has been started leading the Chinese smartphone market within the first two weeks of 2024. The company is still running in the top five listings with a reliance on the strong performance of the Mate 60 and Nova 12 series among consumers.

Huawei P70 series is coming!

Now the Nova phone developer is preparing for the P70 series launch and it is hearsay to boost the sales revenue by about 150% YoY. If true, the OEM may once again show up at the first spot by the second or the third quarter of the current year.

Further details reveal that tech vendors like OPPO and Xiaomi made their way into the top 10 rankers this time. While the report is slightly similar to the last year (same period), Apple has gone down this time, due to strong competition in China.
