Huawei Mate 60 Pro 1.6 million units sales

Huawei has sold over 1.6 million Mate 60 Pro smartphones since its launch on August 29, according to a report. The phone is currently on sale in China as an exclusive market and the demand for the latest Huawei flagship is surging rapidly.

New research revealed that Huawei completed 1.6 million Mate 60 Pro shipments within 6 weeks of launch.

From these a million-plus sales, Huawei sold over 400,000 units of Mate 60 Pro in the last two weeks. During this timeline, Apple also launched its newest iPhone 15 in China. According to counterpoint research, the sales performance of the new iPhone is slightly down as compared to its predecessor about 4.5% down.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro made a silent debut, Huawei organized no major event and just announced this flagship online via its social media account in China. However, the following response from the consumers was overwhelming, Huawei sold out all of the pre-orders in the first week via online and offline sales channels.

Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam said that the smartphone is high in demand, while the available stock is running fast and sellers are turning the notification to coming soon.

“It (Mate 60 Pro) is creating the appearance of perpetual unavailability,” added Ivan.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro comes with a new design and aesthetics. Feature such as satellite calling is also gaining attention and it is not available in any other smartphone.

However, this device is making its own headlines for the mysterious chipset, which vanished three years ago. The new chip is said to be manufactured by SMIC, while some even speculate that the chip was manufactured by Huawei itself.

Meanwhile, Huawei is not promoting this smartphone to the public or even on its official website. Other than the manufacturing process, consumers are surprised to see the return of the 5G network in new Huawei smartphones. Therefore, more customers are showing their interest in buying this new flagship device.
