Huawei P60 and P60 Pro are the next flagships that will with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, says a tipster from Weibo. According to well-known – classmate guan, the Huawei P60 series will feature the next generation Qualcomm chipset – Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. On the other hand, the phone has already started to develop under the testing phase.

Adding to this, the tipster anticipates that there is still more than half a year to see the launch of the Huawei P60 series and we can feel the excitement in the air as this flagship is prepared in the background.

Launch date?

Huawei has not officially confirmed the launch date but the tipster hints that the Huawei P60 series could unveil around the first quarter of 2023. There, Huawei could directly clash with Honor’s Magic 5 series.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2:

Currnelty, Qualcomm has not announced any specific details about this upcoming premium chipset but there are a few specs that you should know about.

This new chipset will bring you octa-core architecture with a 1+2+2+3 core design. These include a super large core upgraded to Cortex X3 to improve performance by 22 percent as compared to past Cortex X2.

ON the other hand, there are large cores that are upgraded to Cortex A715. The performance of the A710 core has increased by 5 percent and there’s a 20 percent boost in energy efficiency. Lastly, the small core still feeds with Cortex A510.

In terms of GPU, the chipset will boost graphics performance with Adreno 740 and X70 5G baseband to provide integrated high-speed internet with a peak download speed of 10Gbps.

To be mentioned, Qualcomm has not revealed the name of this chipset but we can expect some cloud clearing revealings from the chip maker in November.

Huawei P50 series:

Launched last year, the Huawei P50 series was the first flagship to feature a flagship qualcomm processor. Thereafter, Huawei phones continue to feature Snapdragon chipsets due to the lack of Kirins.
