Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ come with revolutionary camera setup of 50MP Triple, Quad and Penta camera setups respectively. And a new report reveals that Huawei has made a spent a good sum of money to introduce this camera setup.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group recently told Wired, that Huawei has spent $100 on the Huawei P40 camera module (each). Maybe even more than $100 on “Pro” and “Plus” models with Periscope sensors.

“For the next two years, the camera is very important, but after those two years we won’t stop,” Yu said.

He said it’s not just the camera but also the more time the consumer spends with the phone, they need longer battery life, larger screens and more protection for your eyes. But if a customer has a larger screen and you want to fit it in your pocket and your hand, then you need a foldable phone or VR.

The camera module of the Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ includes the following sensors powered by Leica, Ultra Vision and SuperSensing technologies.

Huawei P40:

  • 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture)
  • 16 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture)
  • 8 MP Telephoto Camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS)

  • 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture, OIS)
  • 40 MP Cine Camera (Ultra-Wide Angle, f/1.8 aperture)

  • 3D Depth Sensing Camera

Huawei P40 Pro+:

  • 50MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture, OIS)
